A majority of people operate on a day to day basis at a “Beta” Brainwave Frequency which is associated with the fight, flight, freeze response. This Beta state is also commonly associated with anxiety.
Many people who may have been through traumatic experiences, often times have a lowered threshold for stressful experiences they can handle in everyday situations, compared to people who have not.
Part of the process of becoming anxiety free, is to increase a persons threshold for what they can handle In any given situation so there is no feeling of being overwhelmed and therefore assists them in resolving the symptoms of anxiety. As a person’s threshold increases, what used to be an issue, often times does not even register for them.
Raising a persons threshold, confronts the problem directly, lowering reactivity to stress, which in some circumstances is at the root of the of an issue. This allows symptoms to dissipate.
In this way, the client moves from a Beta frequency (fight, flight, freeze response) into more of an Alpha State (relaxation response and flow) in which they can have a completely different response to stimulus in their environment. Situations that used to trigger them into states of anxiety, are now replaced with a sense of calm, relaxation, flow and ease.
With the use of various tools, individuals can eliminate their anxiety as their threshold is elevated even beyond that of someone who has never experienced “trauma”. Breaking free from the “stress cycle” with the use of various tools and techniques can assist in eliminating anxiety long term and reaching your desired states.
