Using our breath is an ideal way to move our body and mind into a state of relaxation and flow and to eliminate anxieties and stress from our life. One of the main tools used in the design of Clinical Hypnotherapy is “Diaphragmatic Breathing” which is used to eliminate or break the stress Cycle.
A vast majority of people are in the habit of taking very shallow breaths. This actually can perpetuate unwanted feeling states and symptoms. The process of learning deep connected breathing at short intervals spaced through the day is a tremendous resource to eliminate anxiety and stress to receive a different response in our body.
Breathing in for the count of 8 and the exhalation for the count of 8, 10 – 12 times 5 times a day is a great strategy to assist in re-centring, letting go of unwanted feeling states and moving into a space or relaxation and flow. This is deep breathing all the way down to the abdomen. The more we breath the more we rejuvenate the body with life giving energy and with the intention on the exhalation of letting go of that which no longer serves. Naturally, if this is difficult start with a lower count and number of breaths and gradually work up.
